Documents overview¶
The document management system (DMS) stores the platform's files — agreement PDFs, price lists, promotions, reports, and general documents — in a folder tree, with per-folder and per-document permissions, expiry dates, and an approval workflow.
Browsing and finding¶
- The document library is the folder-by-folder browser, reached from the sidebar and as a deal's Files tab.
- The document search view searches across folders by status, type, and expiry — and doubles as the admin approval queue.
- The document detail view shows one file: preview, metadata, validity, and actions.
Adding and editing¶
- Uploading documents — the upload wizard (supplier submissions enter an approval queue) and direct folder upload.
- Editing a document — metadata, validity dates, and status.
- Managing document folders — create/move/delete folders and set their permissions.
Approval¶
Supplier-uploaded documents enter as pending and must be approved before they go live; approval can publish a news post and applies the folder's permissions.
How documents connect to deals¶
Documents relate to deals, companies, and other objects. Deal pages surface a deal's key documents, prices, and promotions (see the deal dashboard), and emailing a deal to its supplier grants that supplier access to the deal's document folder.
Time-sensitive documents drive expiry behavior (valid-from / valid-to), which powers the current-vs-pending split on prices and the promotions feed — see Promotions overview.
Permissions¶
Folders and documents carry object-level ACLs (view/edit/delete/admin) — see the permissions matrix.
