Cloning a group deal into your own system¶
Makes a copy of a group agreement inside your own merchant system so you can change it to suit how you report - for example branch-level reporting where the group only reports at member level. The original group deal is not changed.
Requires: the admin (or superusers) role in your own system. The
deal must belong to a group your system is a member of, and your system
must not itself be a group system.
Steps¶
- Open the group deal. Group deals show the group's logo in front of the deal name, and the group's own action menu is hidden.
- At the top right, next to the permissions shield, click the copy button (Clone this group agreement into your system). The button only appears to administrators.
- The copy is made straight away, with no confirmation, and you are taken to the new deal in your own system. If you cloned by mistake, simply delete the copy. Cloning the same group deal again creates another copy.
Result¶
A new deal in your system, owned by you as negotiator and administrator, with:
- the same terms, dates, deal type and seasonality as the group deal;
- every turnover stream copied. Each new stream records the group stream it came from, and any input code you had mapped against the group stream becomes the new stream's input code;
- the supplier company copied into your system the first time a deal from that supplier is cloned, and reused for every later clone;
- deal categories matched by name onto your own categories (unmatched ones are dropped);
- any restrictions your system had already placed on the group deal via the shield carried across.
The copy is visible to administrators only until you open up its permissions (Editing deal permissions).
Not copied: turnover figures, rebate payments, chained deals, documents and sign-offs. Supplier contacts are filled in only where the same person (by email) already exists in your system.
If it fails¶
- No copy button - you are not an administrator in your own system, you are viewing one of your own deals (use Clone Agreement from the action menu instead), or your system is a group system.
- "This agreement belongs to a group this system is not a member of" - your membership of the group has lapsed or API access for your member record is off. Ask the group to check your member record.
