Promotions overview

Promotions are supplier promotional offers surfaced to members — time-limited deals and campaigns tied to a supplier or agreement.

What a promotion is

A promotion is a promotional document held in the document system's Promotions folder for a deal or supplier. Because it's a document, it carries validity dates, which determine whether it is currently running: promotions are shown as current (valid now) or pending (valid from a future date), and drop off when they expire.

Where promotions appear

  • On the deal dashboard, as a carousel of the deal's current promotions (with thumbnails and detail links).
  • On a category management team (CMT) page, under the Promotions tab for that category.
  • Through a dedicated promotions screen, which lists and filters promotional documents.

Under the hood, promotions are retrieved as a document search of the Promotions folder, so they share the DMS model — see Documents overview.

Managing promotions

Promotions are created and updated like other documents: upload a promotional file into the Promotions folder for the relevant deal/supplier and set its validity dates. See uploading documents and editing a document.
