Surveys overview

Surveys are questionnaires built with a drag-and-drop form builder and sent to contacts to answer — used for ad-hoc data gathering and for a standing supplier data-collection questionnaire (the DCQ).

The two kinds

  • Custom survey — you build the questions yourself and invite recipients by hand.
  • Data Collection Questionnaire (DCQ) — a standing supplier questionnaire built around matrix questions (a column per supplier), whose recipients are derived automatically from the DCQ tag and members' product profiles, and whose results use a supplier-comparison report.

See Surveys and questionnaires for the full model.

Lifecycle

Build the form and set the open window (start/end dates), invite or derive recipients, collect responses while the survey is open, and review results per question (or as a supplier matrix for the DCQ). See Creating a survey.

Note a couple of platform behaviors worth knowing: inviting a recipient does not currently email them (invitations are recorded, reminders are in-app), and submission is open to any logged-in contact rather than restricted to invited recipients — both covered on the detail pages.

What surveys are not

Surveys reuse question field types but are not the same as supplier reviews (a separate scorecard feature) or tenders (which reuse survey plumbing for a procurement process).
