Exporting product data¶
Product data is exported using reusable export templates — a named,
ordered set of fields in a chosen format — which you then run against the
catalogue (or from the
calendar for a supplier/day).
Export controls require the pimexport (or rebates) role.
Building an export template¶
In the export setup dialog you can:
- See existing templates with their name, group, and visibility (public or private).
- Build a new template by dragging fields into order and toggling which are included.
- Name it (Export Name and Group) and choose a format — Excel, CSV, XML, or JSON.
- Set visibility: Private (only you) or Public (the whole site).
Making a template public, and deleting templates, is
admin-only.
Templates you can see are your own private templates plus the site's public ones.
Running an export¶
Run an export from the catalogue with your current filters applied — the export uses the same result set as the on-screen list, so supplier scoping and filters carry through. Choosing the Excel output runs the export in the background against the full filtered set and produces the file in your chosen template's format. From the PIM calendar, a supplier badge's export control runs a template for just that supplier and date.
Scoping and permissions¶
- Supplier users are scoped to their own products on export exactly as on the catalogue — the scoping is enforced server-side, so an export cannot widen what a supplier can see.
- A superusers option controls whether zones with expired prices are included in the export.
